Pharmacological enhancement of fibrinolytic activity and 125I-fibrinogen survival.

چکیده
Studies with (125)I-fibrinogen after the administration of phenformin plus ethyloestrenol in five subjects showed no evidence of enhanced catabolism of fibrinogen despite a fall in plasma fibrinogen concentration and shortened clot lysis time. It seems probable that the fall in plasma fibrinogen concentration after the administration of these drugs is related to diminished hepatic synthesis of fibrinogen and is independent of the induction of plasminogen activator release.

Study of garlic effect on fibrinolytic activity of the blood clot in vitro
Abstract Introduction The main function of the fibrinolytic system is to dissolve fibrin clots in circulation. This system is composed of inactive precursor plasminogen which can be converted into plasmin by the proteolytic enzymes like tissue-type plasminogen activator (tPA). Fibrinolytic properties can be found in a variety of medicine plants and they could effectively prevent cardiovascula...
متن کاملAnalysis of essential oil components from four food spices and determination of their in vitro fibrinolytic activity
Introduction: Atherothrombotic diseases such as myocardial or cerebral infarction are serious consequences of the thrombus formation in blood vessels. Thrombolytic agents are used to dissolve the already formed clots in the blood vessels. However, these drugs have certain adverse effects, which cause serious and sometimes fatal consequences. Methods: Plants essential oils were prepared and ...
متن کاملBehaviour of 125I-fibrinogen and 131I-albumin in experimental galactosamine-induced hepatitis.
The turnover of 125I-labelled fibrinogen and 131I-labelled albumin was studied in the course of galactosamine-induced hepatitis in rabbits. In addition to galactosamine, some animals were treated with epsilon-aminocaproic acid (EACA) to inhibit the activation of the fibrinolytic system. The infusion of galactosamine and EACA caused generation of fibrin-rich microclots in the renal glomerular ca...
متن کاملThromboxane generation by human monocytes enhances platelet function
Human monocytes potentiate the ADP-stimulated aggregation of autologous platelets through a fourfold increased binding of 125I-fibrinogen to the platelet surface. The enhancement of platelet function is rapid, relatively transient and is due to thromboxane (Tx) synthesized by monocytes under these conditions. Tx generation by monocytes is triggered by the interaction between fibrinogen and the ...
متن کاملReleasing the Brakes on the Fibrinolytic System in Pulmonary Emboli: Unique Effects of Plasminogen Activation and α2-Antiplasmin Inactivation.
BACKGROUND In patients with hemodynamically significant pulmonary embolism, physiological fibrinolysis fails to dissolve thrombi acutely and r-tPA (recombinant tissue-type plasminogen activator) therapy may be required, despite its bleeding risk. To examine potential mechanisms, we analyzed the expression of key fibrinolytic molecules in experimental pulmonary emboli, assessed the contribution ...
